Project Status
Project commencement was gazetted on 4 March 2016.
The Secretary for Development (SDEV) has considered the project and the related information and authorized the URA to proceed with the project without any amendment on 25 November 2016. The SDEV's decision was first published in the Gazette on 9 December 2016.
The Appeal Board received appeal applications during the appeal period from 9 December 2016 to 9 January 2017. On 28 April 2017, the Appeal Board confirmed the decision of SDEV to authorize URA to proceed with the project.
A Section 16 planning application was submitted to the Town Planning Board (TPB) on 23 July 2018 to seek approval for a proposed underground public car park. The aim of this application is to improve overall traffic arrangement in the area and to promote a more walkable environment.
The said planning application was approved by the TPB on 21 December 2018.
Demolition work of existing buildings were in progress.
Project Programme
Targeted completion by 2027.

The Bailey Street / Wing Kwong Street Development Project is implemented in accordance with the "Urban Renewal Strategy" ("URS") (2011) which includes the flat-for-flat option to be offered as an additional option to cash compensation to the domestic owner-occupiers. They can consider taking cash compensation or using it to buy a new flat-for-flat in-situ in the new development or in the same district or in the Kai Tak development.
