Invitation for Expression of Interest for Fuk Wing Street/Fuk Wa Street Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) tomorrow (Wednesday) will invite estate developers to provide an expression of interest (EOI) for the joint development of the Fuk Wing Street/Fuk Wa Street redevelopment project in Sham Shui Po, the third site successfully cleared since the URA launched its urban renewal programme in March 2002. The project site covers an area of about 14,900 square feet and is expected to deliver a gross floor area of about 134,100 square feet for commercial and residential purposes upon completion in 2008. In addition, about 2,700 square feet of open space will be provided. Episodes to Promote Building Rehabilitation
市區重建局與香港電台合作,在六月二十一日(星期一)開始一連六周,推出處境短劇,闡釋樓宇失修對舊樓業主的深遠影響,並鼓勵他們注重樓宇復修工作。 市建局發言人今日(星期六)表示,據統計,樓齡達到三十年或以上的市區舊樓近一萬幢,數目還不斷增加;單單依靠重建拆卸的方法,無法有效解決問題。對於舊而不殘的樓宇,若果藉著適當的復修,不但可以改善住戶的居住環境,延長樓宇的壽命,更可以為樓宇保值。 他續稱,「然而,很多舊樓業主對於樓宇維修的重要性認識不足,以致問題惡化到嚴重的地步,例如外牆剥落,他們才關注樓宇的安全問題;但屆時他們往往要付出更多的精神和金錢,才能解決問題。」 繼早前宣布動用二億一千萬元推出樓宇復修免息貸款計劃和樓宇復修試驗計劃之後,市建局決定與香港電台一台聯合製作三十輯短劇,進一步加強樓宇復修工作的推廣工作。 一個名為「樓上樓下」的處理短劇會在六月二十一日開始,每逢星期一至五,在香港電台第一台早上十一時卅分的「開心日報」節目播出,並在當天晚上十時十五分的「有加有減」節目重播。最後一輯會在七月三十日播出。前後為時六周。 故事內容主要是透過兩位舊樓小業主「黃師奶」及「陸師爺」的遭遇,以輕鬆幽默的手法,講述舊樓常見的失修問題及解決方法、籌備及展開復修工程須知及介紹市建局如何協助業主進行復修工程等。 為了推動更多業主進行樓宇復修,和培養樓宇保養的文化意識,市建局會推行多項社區教育活動,加強舊樓業主對樓宇復修的認識。 「陸師爺」精采語錄 「大厦復修保養等如預防疾病,小病就即刻醫,一路唔理,諱疾忌醫,將來無得醫,變成危樓就後悔太遲。」 「大廈有僭建物,猶如裝咗計時炸彈,隨時會發生危險,趁大廈復修時一齊拆除,化算又安全!」 「預防勝治療,復修舊樓,拖得一時唔拖得一世,點解唔早啲整番企理間樓,免得累己累人呢?」 「天台漏水,成幢大廈結構

Invitation to Tender for Cherry Street Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) invited a total of 16 property developers to tender for the joint development of the Cherry Street project in Tai Kok Tsui today (Wednesday). The developers have been selected among those who responded to an expression of interest exercise for the project earlier. The Cherry Street project covers a site area of about 48,500 square feet and is expected to deliver a maximum gross floor area of about 459,000 square feet for residential and commercial purposes upon completion in 2008. The completed development will also provide a residential home for the elderly of about 11,800 square feet. K. Wah International wins URA's Johnston Road project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (Thursday) announced that a wholly owned subsidiary of K. Wah International Holdings Ltd., Union Profits Ltd., has won the joint development contract for its Johnston Road project in Wan Chai in a public tender exercise. The project site occupies a prominent location of about 21,200 square feet in Johnston Road at its junction with Ship Street. It is the first site successfully cleared since the URA commenced acquisition work in March 2002 for a series of redevelopment projects. It is also an important part of the URA's effort to regenerate the older part of Wan Chai. Expression of Interest for URA's Cherry Street Project
In response to media enquiries on result of the expression of interest exercise for the joint development of the Cherry Street project site in Tai Kok Tsui, the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (Friday) issued the following statement: A total of 17 submissions have been received expressing an interest in the joint development of the Cherry Street project site. A selection panel under the URA Board would shortlist the qualified parties and invite them to submit a formal tender for the development. It is expected that the tender exercise will take place in the near future. Five receive awards in Lee Tung Street Development Concept Competition
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (Tuesday) presented awards to five winning architect and planner firms in a development concept competition for its Lee Tung Street redevelopment project in Wan Chai. The awards went to Development Professionals Limited, MCAA Limited, Philip Liao & Partner Limited, Urban Design & Planning Consultants Limited and WMKY Limited. Each won a cash prize of $100,000. They have been selected from a total of 20 entries. This is the first time that the URA organised a development concept competition for a major urban redevelopment project. The competition covered the Lee Tung Street project site and the surrounding area measuring about two hectares in total. The project site covers an area of about 48,500 square feet and is expected to deliver a gross floor area of about 459,000 square feet for commercial and residential purposes upon completion in 2008. URA tender closes for Johnston Road project
In response to media enquiries on the tender submissions for the joint development of the Johnston Road project in Wan Chai, the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (Wednesday) issued the following statement: A total of 14 tender offers have been received for the residential/commercial development in Johnston Road, Wan Chai. A tender review panel under the URA Board will consider the tenders and make recommendation to the Board for a decision in due course. URA launches new initiative to promote rehabilitation
VThe Urban Renewal Authority (URA) announced today (Monday) a new Rehabilitation initiative with a total budget of $210 million to assist owners of multi-owned old buildings to carry out rehabilitation work to improve their living environment. The initiative, comprising two different schemes, aims at offering assistance either in kind or in interest-free loan to hundreds of buildings in the urban area over the next five years. Sino Land wins URA's Yeung Uk Road project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (Monday) announced that Ocean Treasure (Hong Kong) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sino Land Company Limited, has won the joint development contract for its Yeung Uk Road project in a public tender exercise. The 77,824-square foot site is a residential and commercial development. It was earmarked by the Government as a linked site to facilitate the implementation of the Tsuen Wan Town Centre redevelopment project which was commenced by the former Land Development Corporation. Design and construction work will commence shortly. The project is expected to be completed in 2007. Sino Land is one of 14 property developers who tendered for the joint venture project.
